How do I know this is hand embroidery and not machine chikan?

Turn the garment inside out. Hand chikankari has visible knots, thread tails and slight irregularity on the reverse; machine work has a continuous locked thread and a uniform back. Bakhiya pieces are worked entirely from the reverse, so the wrong side will look denser than the right. If anything you receive from us fails that test, write to us straight away and we will make it right.

Why is one kurta ₹1,990 and another ₹34,900?

Almost entirely embroidery hours. The Aangan kurti carries a single stitch along the placket and takes five days. The Darbar anarkali carries six stitches across a full-length garment and takes seventy-seven. Fabric accounts for a small part of the difference; the hand accounts for the rest.

Will the white thread stay white?

If you wash it as we suggest, yes for years. Undyed cotton thread yellows with direct sun and with detergents containing optical brighteners. Wash cold, dry in shade, and store folded in muslin rather than plastic.

How do your sizes run?

True to Indian ready-to-wear sizing, with roughly two inches of ease through the bust on straight kurtas. Every product page carries the exact garment measurements — measure a kurta you already like and match those numbers rather than picking your usual letter.

Can I get something altered?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tell us at checkout and we will adjust length and sleeve at no cost before dispatch, which adds three to four days. Luxury Atelier and Wedding pieces include fitting adjustments for one year after purchase.

In-stock pieces dispatch within 24 hours and reach metro cities in 2–4 working days, elsewhere in India in 4–7. International orders take 6–12 working days. Made-to-order pieces from the Wedding collection take eight to ten weeks.

We ship to the US, UK, Canada, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Singapore and the EU. Duties are calculated and collected at checkout so nothing is charged on delivery.
